Baby, It's BEYOND Cold Outside!

It's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZING outside! I think even penguins would be complaining - it's THAT cold! Does he look happy to you??? I know you can't see me (and be thankful for the shield of the internet) but I am wearing my fleece jammies and thick slippers. I know, the Domestic Goddess in her finest.

Weather like this makes me think of wrapping my hands around a mug of soup... not just any soup - Stracciatella! Wait, what? You don't know what that is??? Come closer, grab a pen, I'll tell you.

Stracciatella basically means "torn apart". The soup isn't pretty, but it is delicious!

3.5C chicken broth
1/2C cup water
1/4C small pasta (I use soup pasta, you could use any type)
1T parsley
1/2t nutmeg
1/2t garlic (I put it in everything)
2T grated cheese
1 egg, beaten
Bring broth to a boil, stir in pasta and cook until tender (check your pasta directions for time). Reduce heat and stir in parsley, nutmeg, garlic and cheese. Pour the egg in to the simmering soup, slowly, and stir once.

That's it - pretty simple, right? If I am making it for a dinner, I will make garlic sticks for dipping. Not a drop of this soup is ever left behind.

Enjoy!
